00:00:01
oh okay very good so welcome everyone to uh that yep uh innovation uh
00:00:07
a challenge you know this uh this is a great day for us today we're very
00:00:11
glad to host you all at this international great challenge uh hosted a yeah
00:00:16
and so what we're gonna do today is now uh listen to the start ups which will be pitching today
00:00:21
so what we did now is these all entrepreneurs they arrive there sitting more the front rows of us here today
00:00:27
coming from all over the world you know we have some here the bravest i guess they
00:00:31
missed their flight last night they drove ten hours from amsterdam to be here with us
00:00:36
so a second run across and and of course to all of them today so we
00:00:41
just find one hour briefing than introducing them to eat yep uh the venue
00:00:45
over there next three weeks which what they will be uh spending here you know
00:00:50
developing their m. b. p.s and so what we're going to do today is
00:00:56
start with a bit of history about uh each of you know so here we have false well
00:01:01
for yeah a deputy director of the yeah and it's actually the seventh uh addition he's organising
00:01:07
so you know i'm just here as a kind of a a a stage man but really the whole effort
00:01:12
really go to false well and the and the it team uh i did yep organising this for so many years
00:01:17
so over the years you had more than fifty prototypes of which
00:01:20
over thirteen startups created i think that's really an amazing ratio
00:01:24
uh and that shows you what the potential of what you can achieve here
00:01:28
over a three weeks which is a very accelerated a program actually
00:01:32
um so the most successful ventures you have for example here of for
00:01:36
them by watch which is really a buyer metric uh identification watch
00:01:40
which can help you log in identify you know uh so you don't need different badges keys passwords
00:01:47
so that's a a great story as well as as well as others you'll be able to the program to network
00:01:52
as well with those entrepreneurs uh so we have two of them well with us today which you'll need through the day
00:01:59
um and as well connect with them in exchange their stories
00:02:03
uh and their experience at the international great challenge
00:02:07
so i see today really there's a three main missions it's about research fundamental research
00:02:13
there's some of the teams here in the room with us today which have
00:02:16
their teams at it yet it's also about education and technology transfer
00:02:21
so i think this is very interesting because as we're hosting these entrepreneurs we're gonna work on some projects
00:02:26
which are not yet fully established a startups fully established teens they will probably uh maybe
00:02:32
complete their teams throughout the program a fine tune their business model their prototyping
00:02:38
and as well connecting a lot with it yep and learn how you can go from
00:02:42
research firm idea into creating a start of a product a a service and
00:02:47
maybe potentially you know find some synergies with the eco system around you of idiot
00:02:52
would mutual fusion and connect with other people in through that maybe enhance
00:02:58
your own projects bringing some technologies merging your ideas with others
00:03:02
and maybe enhances will your project throughout the process
00:03:05
so you know there's a lot of brainpower here use it and abuse it uh with all due respect of course
00:03:12
and um that's gonna be i think quite exciting so it's not only about workshops
00:03:17
you know preparing the documents for your startup uh it's also about connecting you to the local community
00:03:23
a meeting people so do make the best out of that and enjoy the three weeks ahead
00:03:28
uh in the second part of the room you have a lot of that community which is represented
00:03:32
for me the up in which you and so you know you'll have time of course to network with them later
00:03:37
on but there'll also be there listening closely to your pitch sharing their feedback so you know i think this
00:03:42
the sharing of ideas and don't hesitate you know to to criticising each other as well that i
00:03:47
think there you really need to work on that you know be sometimes be confrontational mean
00:03:52
that's how the best ideas can can really be validated and and leads to something exciting
00:03:57
uh so uh in summary really yeah turning from codes
00:04:01
ideas into some prototypes for the three weeks
00:04:04
uh and hopefully create new companies there's quite a few perks as well uh as
00:04:08
you do these perks of been presented to the entrepreneurs but really it's about
00:04:12
for example setting up a startup invite a you know for a lot of these companies
00:04:17
we'll see later on other coming from as far as in the uh or brazil
00:04:22
uh so in the peaks potentially uh there will be one
00:04:26
of the projects if it's a focused on health
00:04:29
tack and ensure tech which can potentially make its way into
00:04:33
the it looks program which is a sort of a
00:04:36
for one more elaborate a international create challenge in the sense that the in the peaks is a full long three month
00:04:42
accelerator which is hosted here at yep as well uh for the good mutual powered by fusion which is really
00:04:50
dedicated to start ups without which have uh you know already uh start upset the team said
00:04:55
most of them are beyond the prototyping set testing their go to market and seeking for additional rounds of investors
00:05:00
so it's really a bit the logical a step between the create challenge
00:05:05
and then really trying to accelerate your started for the wrong
00:05:09
a lot of course a good nature and uh i won't go without a detail into this one
00:05:14
because you'll have nickel you other innovation officer of good mutual presenting their strategy later on
00:05:20
uh and as well you know network with them it's a great opportunity to be close to
00:05:24
these large corporates and uh you know if they could to size you criticising them back
00:05:29
tell them what are they doing around innovation how can you
00:05:32
potentially a fine stuff find some mentoring find some advice
00:05:36
uh who can you connect into those companies as well that's very interesting as well throughout the next week
00:05:42
without further ado the program for the day well we're gonna run into the
00:05:46
pitch sessions so there's eight projects uh pitching with us uh this afternoon
00:05:51
uh unfortunately two of them uh i think they're both from brazil there's been some
00:05:56
travel logistics uh difficulties challenges so they'll still be pitching but by video
00:06:02
um and the they will each have three minutes uh to bitch so that's
00:06:07
that's a very very short which in time uh but you know it's um i think it's more than enough to really
00:06:12
convey their idea the prototype they wanna develop the service they wanna elaborate on and then for you as
00:06:18
well to have a short q. and a sessions so we ask you during the questions after
00:06:23
please be very crispy very short it's not a monologue about what
00:06:26
you think about their industry their technology what they wanna develop
00:06:30
really pick their brains through some very condensed a question is the more we have
00:06:34
short questions the more feedback we can get as well from the audience
00:06:40
uh so thanks again to to the partners around the the eco system of the international great challenge
00:06:46
there is of course uh yep an e. d. r. there's also some some business schools some startup accelerators
00:06:51
and uh not mentioned here but of course as well a fusion which has been doing some accelerated programs for the past years
00:06:57
um so without further ado actually the agenda is quite tight so we're
00:07:01
gonna snow only call uh the startups up to comment pitch um
00:07:10
what but before that you know i just put a few smiley faces to show how it's really
00:07:15
the global into local into martinis so you know the reach of this event
00:07:20
is a as for me i think very exciting and to be able to
00:07:23
have all of those uh ideas from all over the world com
00:07:27
and the try to be enhanced here at e. d. up in athenians what's with and i think that's very exciting so
00:07:33
again uh you know thanks a lot for joining us to these entrepreneurs making it all the way from there
00:07:41
so um there is a link here at the bottom sorry i didn't put your code or anything
00:07:46
uh we very much appreciate your feedback on the pitch sessions so after each pitch you'll
00:07:52
have some time to log in into that google survey uh fill it in
00:07:56
and basically there's three uh criteria we look at it's
00:08:00
the business model the customer validation execution in design
00:08:04
bear in mind that the startups they're very you know early stage
00:08:09
so they might not have fully validated the market but i think the idea of this exercise is to collect a bit this
00:08:15
rating what what you perceive from their pitch go threats with them through the three weeks really focus on some points
00:08:21
and mainly also have this as a point of reference and do this exercise again at the end and see how much they have evil
00:08:29
so the link there is a g. o. o. dodgy l. for dual shortcut slash big an f.
00:08:36
in small seventy four and then small a see if you can sign and
00:08:40
there will ask you as well to to share uh after each started
00:08:46
without further ado i'm calling up the team of better skills with my than george and
