00:00:00
in into everyone uh uh my name is original but yeah i'm program director
00:00:05
of uh you know peaks and uh i was helping uh yep
00:00:08
uh and their seventh edition of the international create challenge
00:00:12
uh here in mckinney at the yep research institutes
00:00:15
uh so it's uh it's my pleasure i'm really delighted to have been able to a company
00:00:20
uh these uh eight projects uh moving from ideas uh to start ups through the past three weeks
00:00:26
a leading really to the climax the culmination a bit of these
00:00:29
uh three weeks today here acted yep for the finals
00:00:34
so today is really a special day because all of these teams have been
00:00:37
working very hard on building stronger team links as we will see
00:00:42
but also better projects with some demos and connecting to the eco system around us
00:00:48
uh so which eco system of course first of all that you'd yep research institute
00:00:53
and all of its uh researchers p. h. d.s it's a management as well has been very supportive throughout the whole way
00:01:00
but also through other activities like me tops dinners sports events uh an excuse and
00:01:08
dancing as well as as we might see later on we will see
00:01:12
uh they've really been able as well to plug into the local
00:01:14
ecosystem beyond pure that you'd yeah walls here uh from
00:01:19
myself uh working for fusion as well and of course good
00:01:23
mutual as well with some of you present here
00:01:26
a present throughout the whole three weeks really giving them insight into
00:01:29
the corporate world of health insurance as well uh so
00:01:32
i think this has been a great experience for all in the past three weeks especially that we have teams
00:01:38
uh coming uh with us from uh brazil from russia from italy with
00:01:44
many more nationalities behind and a few so this one's as well
00:01:48
so you know i think it's a really great to be able to kick off the finals that today here
00:01:54
so as you can see here it's really we started august twenty eighth it's uh the big
00:01:58
day today so there was a lot of stress and pressure from all of these entrepreneurs
00:02:03
building up maybe in the last two three days uh we've seen
00:02:07
a lot of them you know running like busy aunts across
00:02:11
trying to hide so sometimes i had to open unlocked doors to see where they are uh but they've been it really
00:02:16
been preparing a lot for you to be on stage the data pitch other projects um so today we're really gonna
00:02:23
have this uh this uh pitching finals an awards ceremony and then
00:02:27
a dinner altogether as well uh tonight which has been
00:02:30
moved for the bits to seven thirty p. m. so pleased to stay with us throughout the whole uh evening
00:02:36
a bit of housekeeping uh today your recorded with one of the
00:02:41
e. d. apps a spinoff technologies actually so to the startups uh i'm
00:02:46
gonna ask you to make sure you have this consent form signed
00:02:49
and then given over to fossil who's there at the back of us uh the rest of housekeeping is if you need the restrooms
00:02:56
it's a a diagonal near the elevators uh so how that agenda is gonna take place i'll
00:03:01
get into that but before really for those who missed it on the opening day
00:03:05
of course well for yeah the deputy director of a yep was able
00:03:09
to present to go to the entrepreneurs what you'd yep is about
00:03:12
the whole really powerhouse here of of brain and projects and research
00:03:16
and so the entrepreneurs through the past three weeks have been able to uh connect with
00:03:20
or roughly i think uh ten different teams covering wide range of
00:03:24
activities from from image to voice the machine learning a i
00:03:28
and uh so the three pillars of egypt really being the fundamental research education and the technology transfer
00:03:35
so i hope that through the demos today as well maybe a few of them will be able to
00:03:39
highlight how connecting with the that we've been able to leads to some or some potential some dynamic
00:03:45
engage with you'd oppose well enable to really material lies
00:03:49
make this concrete in terms of technology transfers
00:03:51
well how can they use everything built here bring it's to the market through their business models
00:03:59
so that's a bit uh the the three weeks every scene there's but some uh there's been a
00:04:03
lot of workshops uh a lot of socialising as well social events will see that later
00:04:08
uh mixing as well the two so glad that some of the workshop uh givers were able to stay with us to
00:04:14
get to know the entrepreneurs better because it's not just a one off events right a lot of interpreters have
00:04:20
taken contact with all the people they've met and the ambition the vision is really that through
00:04:25
their journey they're able to contact back with the people once even their back home or
00:04:30
if they settle down in switzerland whether started to keep this contact uh going uh there was
00:04:35
a very stressful the challenger last week as well there was the telex and martini
00:04:40
all of the startups uh projects were able to really page uh their their
00:04:44
vision a a specific topic one of them was a selected for that
00:04:49
uh but i think that was a very good practised for all of them for the the challenge today of pitching as well
00:04:54
with a much smaller scene but none the less of very essential one because of course i think they're all
00:05:00
hunting for those awards and very curious uh of what lies behind that as well
00:05:06
so as of also had mentioned work hard have fun we'll see that that challenge was uh
00:05:12
successful i think they've both worked hard and had fun along the way
00:05:16
so here for you visuals is the the aids projects um and
00:05:21
uh that will be also reflected for the jury members in your a
00:05:25
feedback form i will go into more detail on that later
00:05:28
um so you know i see really where the seventh uh edition of focusing on
00:05:33
a i for health insurance as a special sub topic but really here
00:05:38
three weeks ago we were presenting this to the same entrepreneurs saying this is the past
00:05:43
the message is much stronger today because we've had no dropouts a few cheat a few teams have
00:05:48
really had challenges in the team wise a pivot wise and they've gone through that the successfully
00:05:54
they're all here so really the message these that you're all part of it so
00:05:59
we're all making the i. c. c. a history now there's no turning
00:06:02
back unless you run away but i still have your presentation
00:06:06
and we still have some videos from three weeks ago and we can say that that's
00:06:09
it uh so the agenda for today uh after this uh this welcome uh introduction
00:06:16
we're still on time so that's good uh we've decided to split the
00:06:20
into two sections so the order has nothing to do it's
00:06:24
a very random order a and since each part should take around an hour and a half we're gonna have a little break
00:06:31
so the the the startups the projects they're discovering this now as well the order
00:06:35
uh i wanted them to all the presents and keep on that team spirit device e. to the end
00:06:40
so that they're all here to listen to each other as well so we're gonna start
00:06:44
with better skills than various we use that money id then robots then we're gonna
00:06:48
have a a quick break for for coffee tea and snacks and we're gonna take on
00:06:52
to the second part with adviser of artifacts local counter and tell the hotel
00:06:58
uh after that we will have a jury deliberation with the awards that go along with it
00:07:03
and will will finish the day with a little the networking cocktail while waiting for the venue
00:07:09
next door a better to be ready for us at dinner seven thirty p. m.
00:07:15
the awards that's really what a lot of the the entrepreneurs here have been bugging
00:07:19
me and probably not just me but others around uh i mean of course
00:07:25
they've through the three weeks they've been able to build some strong links with each yep and which read
00:07:31
but more beyond that there's really some awards with it to support them
00:07:34
and entrepreneurs journey so here of highlight the the four main ones
00:07:38
there's a cash prize totalling up to thirty thousand swiss francs a split which we
00:07:43
need to happen good material um then there's a seed investments with a a
00:07:48
through the three weeks they've unable to meet a a v. c. which is one of
00:07:51
the partners politic ventures in terms of how to negotiate with the b. c.
00:07:55
how to fine tune their financial model to show those key messages so if
00:07:59
they're able to go through a successful around again with them of negotiation
00:08:04
they can tap into that potential ten thousand swiss francs of early stage seed investment
00:08:10
integration as well very importance to have that local support
00:08:14
so of the local experts here of the region uh with uh the ark uh
00:08:18
with some uh uh some big prizes there as well supporting the startups
00:08:22
um and as well conditional of course if you build your project here locally uh as well
00:08:28
and finally if uh you reach out beyond that with the successful incubation successful
00:08:33
uh i see see you can also aim for the inner peaks
00:08:37
which is the program which i'm directing which is a a good mutual powered by
00:08:41
fusion accelerator so that's really three months taking what you've lived in three weeks
00:08:47
much more intensively but also much more concrete opening doors to
00:08:51
the market and to investors to help you uh grow
00:08:56
thanks again to all of the partners uh mentioned up here uh a very special one of course to
00:09:02
to eat yeah who's uh been hosting us and been very available than the whole team right
00:09:06
martin uh uh the secretary uh unfortunately they're not all there with us today but there's also
00:09:12
or to well and false while so a great help to to they're really on side to support uh
00:09:18
whenever i wasn't available i made them run around the as well a lot for for the workshops
00:09:24
um and so now it's really time without further due to the fifteen minute pitches
00:09:29
so how it's gonna happen why fifty minute it's much longer than the three minutes they had to start
00:09:34
the idea is that they also come out with some demo and some
00:09:37
explanation of what they've been going through for these three weeks
00:09:41
uh after that we will have a five minutes of q. and a session with uh with each a project
00:09:46
and at the end you have a few minutes to fill in the feedback form
00:09:50
you have a link there at your code for that so please uh
00:09:53
do feel that in uh after each start up so you don't get mixed
00:09:56
up and it will be very uh useful for deliberation at the end
00:10:02
wanna so if you're all no problem on the jury side you're all connected
00:10:06
your online and we're gonna welcome the late comers as well don't hesitate
