have worked in several cross border cities

and we are a a committee to tall interdisciplinary work and particularly to

the nexus with geography with urban economy one ecology and art

uh_huh so to to start with our first proposal

c. t. v. the land the notion of the land is a key
00:05:58
concepts that they put forward to which the project is deployed

uh it is sometimes you was the the notion of the land is something is used as a synonym

also overlapping with the notion of territory it is
00:06:12
a poly semantic cause sit with many meanings
00:06:16
enjoying you on is a unique city historically geographically politically and

a land within the c. t. is today uh

also can be understood is a crucial opportunity

city with a large amount of land uh has an advantage in
00:11:34
terms of what security for example in terms of resource security

in terms of um uh let's see men wearing space so these are the kind of
00:11:43
different uh teams that uh uh can uh be explored in this context and
00:11:51
to go further we're proposing three ways of approaching bland in our project
00:11:57
the first would be articulated for the notion of property
00:12:02
uh and also regulations of the first there was property
00:12:07
uh we can uh use straight uh approach to property
00:12:13
in many different ways this is just one specific illustration from this
00:12:18
large uh uh a region uh off a a greater geneva
00:12:25
it illustrates uh uh the image illustrates a

specific problem of uh uh um um

uh uh let's eight counties side uh as profoundly stable as protected

as a image as a picture s. which uh is uh

a stable uh uh uh uh who over very long periods of time uh

of a more productive ways in which we can link

uh the the uh housing in the land perhaps we can um

uh think of examples of a a new kinds of property let's see return to some forms

of the common property perhaps there are opportunities uh that can be identified for such changes

or a week with that thing for a a a a new kinds

of regulations that with the allow uh also uh uh um

i'll call you types of farming let's say that kind of we're been cooperative

farming or what uh what might be called a kind of a
00:14:17

attractive but they're not uh allowed yonder uh current rules

uh and then also be quite that perhaps imagine as a a

countryside as a as a form of fun um um

uh we've been leisure area on this is also an important function for

which uh uh uh it's a a huge uh energy exists

but is also not so not something which is actively supported within
00:14:47
the current frameworks the second way uh off approaching plant
00:14:53
uh would be the notion of ecology and uh on their this notion we could ask
00:14:58
ourselves how is the nature in this matter point the region actually produced so

if i'm looking at this picture i'm not perhaps entirely sure but i i would

yes that such a uh let's see attractive edge of the field

uh it is a question whether those tools that we currently have

ah what are what are the things that are created and finally uh that they're the way in which

we want to speak about the problematic of land is

uh uh the notion of identity uh um
00:16:13
we're here in a complex region uh uh uh uh between the two countries

a different religions between the the kind of local and international populations
00:16:23
this is for instance the um a village centre of um
00:16:30
a century yeah and it is interesting that uh this is
00:16:36
uh actually also the image doesn't show you that
00:16:39
this is the fastest growing town in the french geneva that uh has a huge amount of population that
00:16:46
the actual kind of topology that is being developed there are are perhaps four
00:16:50
or five or six story uh dwellings at the periphery of this village

um and also uh uh we uh we understand

that that uh that uh uh jean

situational also profoundly international and something that supports

the uh uh uh uh a character of geneva as a international centre

but are relatively small and we're trying to reconstruct how these uh places

00:18:44
local organisation but it only for planning issues for how
00:18:47
to deal with land and housing and other issues this is
00:18:50
the question we are uh dealing with and um
00:18:54
we have some um explanatory factors for reconstruction of for the
00:18:59
reconstruction of the way how these bases became evident
00:19:02
and um no time to go into detail but i think it's uh it's quite important that they
00:19:08
um we're using a a sort of position nutty overlaps between different systems
00:19:14
um that they actually could develop without a big intel and
00:19:18
and then make it international and then also global relations
00:19:21
and if we would just give you an example this is something that we observe in luxembourg
00:19:26
that the big institution the big european institutional was also the financial market place
00:19:31
these are sort of white elephants that are in every room
00:19:35
where it is uh discussed about urban planning issues
00:19:38
but they are not openly addressed it was interesting to listen this morning to
00:19:42
the united nations and if you know a little bit about geneva
00:19:46
uh as when we started all project which became quite clear
00:19:50
that the big institution the global institutions in this city
00:19:53
this relatively small today could be one and two point one starting point to do this research on what
00:19:59
