promoting its community this is such a
diverse and interesting community I
think it really represents in some
sense the new face of computing which
is gone well beyond its original
domains of of hardware and software to
encompass so many aspects of our
society another aspect that I think is
very important to point out about six
high especially is its willingness to
embrace the entire world a CM is the
largest and oldest international
computing society. And as computing has
bred a CM has bred and I think sink

job engaging with of course places like
Europe US and now Asia and I'm very
proud to to be here and and help thank

seven hundred and twenty six authors
submit five thousand two hundred and
seventy five pieces of content the I
twenty fifteen while as you can see

truly a global community with others
coming from all over the world. So how
do we actually managed five thousand
plus pieces of technical content that
it instantly well the answer is three D
violent many volunteers in our
community many of them are here today I
like to take a moment to think all of
the people that were involved in this
process. We started off with forty
people who volunteered to be venue
chair if you're one of the menu chairs
the technical program I'd like to ask
you to stand out and remain standing
for a few moments I get a hold your
flies. So silly "'cause" we have a lot
of people to think here as a remain
standing if you will in terms of the
paper notes program which is a huge
part of the technical program we had
twenty six that committee chairs
hundred and ninety associate chairs in
two thousand eight hundred and twenty
two reviewers if you were involved in
organising reviewing for the papers and
notes program please stand up we also
had hundred to associate chairs and
judges. And one thousand four hundred
and six reviewers from all the other
venues that kind if you were involved
in this process please stand out. So
wonderful kind twenty fifteen had four
thousand five hundred and eighty six
people volunteer to review the than
many pieces of content admitted let's
take a moment now technicalities people
for their help so I'm more than five
thousand pieces of content submitted
one thousand four hundred and forty two
pieces were accepted for acceptance
into the conference an important part
of this process was the program
committee meeting that was held thing
on fire university here in Seoul back
in December twenty fourteen two hundred
twenty people to time out of their
daily lives to travel full. And help
make decisions on which papers and
notes to be accepted into the program
what we have all the pieces of content
selected we had the huge task of the
scheduling all these these the content
